Chiefs Message

Chief Michael Connolly is the ninth Chief for the Broadmoor Police Department. Prior to becoming Chief of the Broadmoor Village, Chief Connolly was an elected Police Commissioner for the Broadmoor Police Department since 2016 until becoming the Chief in 2019.

Chief Connolly has forty years of law enforcement experience and retired from the San Francisco Police Department as the Deputy Chief for the Bureau of Investigations after thirty years.

Chief Connolly additionally served as the Deputy Chief of the Professional Standards Bureau where he developed the compliance program for the Department in collaboration with the United States Department of Justice. Chief Connolly is also currently on staff as a part-time educator for the City College of San Francisco in the Administration of Justice program.

Chief Connolly is a graduate of Leadership SF, a premier leadership course for San Francisco leaders committed to solution-based problem-solving strategies dealing with current and emerging issues in society. Chief Connolly is also a graduate of the United States Department of Justice, FBI National Academy, 250th Session.

Chief Connolly holds a Master’s Degree in Emergency Services Administration from California State University, Long Beach; a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco and an Associate’s Degree in Administration of Justice from City College of San Francisco. Chief Connolly is a Captain in the California State Guard and serves as Liaison Officer.

Chief Connolly has resided in Broadmoor, Ca for over 30 years with his wife, having raised his family there.
